Alvin Co. Art Nouveau Scent Bottle with Silver Overlay and Stopper in Fine Silver - c. 1919. Well marked. Colorless lead glass 5-1/2" tall bottle. Silvered. Engraved. The bottle a bulbous spherical shape with a tapering neck. Body covered in silver which has been cut away into dense scrolling pattern and centering cartouche, monogrammed ("A" in a font). Separate inversely shaped "teardrop" stopper covered in silver in matching pattern. Original.
Marks:
PATENTED 26 FINE 999/1000 and Hallmark for Alvin Co., New York City. The bottom of the lead glass bottle itself is marked 53 and an esoteric symbol.

Antique lead glass scent with silver overlay and stopper. Fine Silver 999/1000. The bottle itself in very good condition. Clean. Polished. The stopper itself is in good condition with minor losses about its bottom end, inside the bottle’s neck (see photographs). Neat and clean. Clean. Polished. Otherwise, random signs of wear and pockets of tarnish.
